Hot topic: Where do we go from here?
We're what you would call an "average" family...with a lot of debt. We make approx. 75k annually, but have a 153k mortgage, 23k student loan, 10k car debt, and 45k second mort, plus all of the other bills that come with being a homeowner (electric, gas, insurance). This is also not counting our 1200 month daycare bill and other life expenses, food, fuel, prescriptions, medical bills, gifts, other insurance premiums, cell phones etc... We are having a extremely hard time making ends meet anymore...much less paying off our debt. What to do now? Should I get a second job to work evenings and weekends? Should we sell the house and move into an apartment and use the proceeds from the house to pay down debt? I want to do this the "right" way…
